I’m open to more serious topics in mg if they’re executed in a thoughtful and engaging way. #MSWL

In middle grade, I’m always hungry for action, adventure, magic, and humor. It can be fantasy or contemporary, or a little bit of both. Give me your fresh takes on magical school settings or just fun friendship stories filled with hijinks. #MSWL

As for children’s, I’m always open to YA in almost all genres, especially fantasy, contemporary, and thriller. I just want strong concepts and smart MCs with engaging voices that pull me along for the ride and make me want to root for them the entire way. #MSWL

I want to see fun and sweet contemporary romances with high concept hooks in the adult space as well. Think Lily Chu’s The Stand In or Emily Henry’s Book Lovers. I’m probably not the right agent for more serious romance stories. #MSWL

I’d love to see more horror in my inbox. It can be adult (or YA). Not slash and hack bloody horror, but the kind that builds psychological tension in a smart and surprising way. #MSWL

I’m expanding into repping more adult projects in genre fiction. I want to see more cozy fantasy, romantic or not, with low stakes, warmth, humor and whimsy. Basically a hug in book form. #MSWL

It’s #MSWL Day! I’ve always been so bad of coming up with specifics because I really am a reader who likes being surprised and is open to falling in love with a great story, but with that being said here’s some info about general things I’m looking for:

Can we talk about what an awesome show Lady Parts is? I’d love to see a YA book version. #mswl

Often times parents have to move for work or family dynamics change in a way that requires them to be uprooted from familiar places. So I think it’d be great to see more coming-of-age MG stories about transient children, especially ones with diaspora backgrounds. #MSWL

Okay, so Plan B is the teen reproductive rights movie I needed.

Also, the fact that one of the MCs is crushing on a guy who shares a mutual love of Sailor Moon is everything. 😂

I know an all female Lord of the Flies type of retelling has been done, but I’d love one similar to The Wilds where each of the girls are unapologetically messy and broken before they land on the island. This show is surprisingly great (minus the Dr. Klein aspect). #MSWL

I have a big time #MSWL for a story like Never Have I Ever! There’s just so much to love about this show. It’s everything I’ve wanted and more in a coming of age comedy for teens. Also, I wish I had a Paxton Hall-Yoshida when I was in high school. 😍

I don't know if any of you have been watching The King Eternal Monarch on Netflix, but I'd love to see a Korean inspired historical YA fantasy that blends the present with the past in this vein. It's so good! #mswl
