Historical #mswl
Time periods I like to read about: 1920s-present day. I don't read a lot of historical fiction older than that (I liked FOUR WINDS, OUR WOMAN IN MOSCOW, and love Beatriz Williams in general).

#mswl generational stories of parenthood and family with non-binary and/or trans characters in the commercial or historical adult fiction genre (ie. heavy with plot!)

Coming-of-age anything! Could have historical/magical realism twist i.e. THE TWELVE LIVES OF SAMUEL HAWLEY, YONAHLOSSEE RIDING CAMP, AFTER HER, THE SECRETS OF LAKE ROAD, THE GIRLS, HISTORY OF WOLVES, GIRLS ON FIRE, AGE OF MIRACLES #mswl

Multi POV, time slip or dual past/present narrative structure women’s fiction, historical, domestic suspense, or upmarket like THE ALICE NETWORK, THE SUBWAY GIRLS. #mswl

Historical novels where plot & setting have to work together i.e. NIGHTINGALE, ARCADIA, GIRL YOU LEFT BEHIND. I’m not interested in writers using historical to tell me how much research they’ve done. I want a very plotty historical. Beatriz Williams-esque. #mswl

#MSWL past/present narratives, historical women's fiction from 1890s on, must have crackling dialogue like Beatriz Williams.

I've been tweeting this #mswl for 5 yrs: historical women’s fiction/book club book about NYC garment district 1911 shirtwaist fire tragedy.

A very specific #mswl: Would love an East/West Germany or Berlin Wall historical with a romantic hook

I don't do historical pre-1890s. But I did dearly love Song of Achilles, so there you go. Story trumps all. #mswl

Love stories that are heavy in plot, often historical could be contemporary (i.e. One Day, Me Before You, Maybe In Another Life) #mswl

Looking for a historical: well-paced is most important, larger than life characters, big love story hooks (i.e. Beatriz Williams) #MSWLI don't like it when historical ms tries to show off how much research was done. I want the plot to show through (w a vivid setting) #mswl
