I love mermaids and I would love to see a fun contemporary with professional mermaids! #MSWL

Ahead of opening to queries this week, I am going to retweet some of my #MSWL tweets. This month I am really looking to find more YA novels, particularly hoping to find a fantasy or more contemporary coming of age romances.

It is rare that I have a #PB #MSWL but I am thinking about FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS and I would love a picture book that comps to that

Murder at a Truse crime conventiom. Couch sleuths galore! Maybe pair with my Elle Woods/Dapne murder mystery #MSWL

Also #MSWL for Daphne from SCOOBY DOO or Elle Woods in a YA murder mystery.

#MSWL but I would love teens resistance: housing banned books in lockers/backpacks, making side hustles (hair braiding/slime/candy) underground, also standing up against unfair dress codes! You can combine with other elements of my #MSWL like homecoming mums!

Alrighty, that's all the graphics I have made right now. Remember, these can be MG or YA or in graphic novel form, and marginalized voices are welcome to run with these ideas as well. I actually think some of these might be better explored through those lens!

This next one is a #IYKYK type #MSWL : I love that British narration style--almost Neil Gaiman-esque feel--that features quirky shops. Id' love to see an MG or YA with elements like this.

Mermaids, Take 2 #MSWL . This one is all fun, summer, contemporary vibes, but people who work as professional mermaids. If you watch MERPEOPLE on netflix, I want the fun, summer, YA version #MSWL

Genre mashups! Like taking the beats from a romance or women's fiction, and bringing them to a fantasy world. Or the high fantasy tropes and taking them to comic con. This is just one example in the pic, but so many ways to play with this! #MSWL

Ren Faires! There is so much here, and in so many different angles. I love the escapism of the faires, the small artists business, but there is also elements to unpact! surprise me! #MSWL

Then we have poison gardens, herbalist vibes in a fantasy world. I love the idea that the same plants that can cure things can kill. #MSWL

Up next: Mermaids! This is only one version of my mermaid #MSWL : atmospheric, unsettling, not taking place in the water.
