If I were to sign a YA right now, and it's tight, it would have to be really unique. As always...commercial, readable, inventive, aspirational, romantic and/or strong-relationship driven, "knows where it comes from but knows where it's going" type stuff. #mswl

I really do need more MG. @JoshuaSLevy needs friends. (I mean, he has friends. Just not on my list.) Voicey, plot-driven, strong concepts, heaps of fun or cleverness. Nothing depressing. Heartfelt, yes. But not depressing. #mswl

For the older PBs, something smart like THE MONSTER AT THE END OF THIS BOOK is my holy grail. But also things in the camp of MAX THE BRAVE, WE FOUND A HAT, etc. #mswl

I'd love to see younger PBs for the 0-3 year set: rhythmic, lyrical, bedtime-appropriate books for babies/non-verbal kids. Like Emma Dodd's books. Sweet, simple, short. #mswl

For PBs: author/illustrators only. (I know that stings a little. Sorry?) I like modern art styles, whimsical-with-heart stories, light humor, honest kid emotions, and simple prose. +100 for women and POC author/illustrators. #mswl

A reminder that I really want a MG about being a child of an immigrant. Something from Crazy Rich Asians that hit home to me was this line (summarized for space):
