So let's talk graphic novel #MSWL ahead of me opening on 6/1. Below are just a small sample of some of my talented clients and their work. For graphic novels, art is such a big part of it for me. pic.twitter.com/nePULFddzM
But you don't have to be an illustrator to give me graphic novels. I also love script only graphic novels #MSWL.
One thing I have noticed about my taste is I read for escape. I lean towards fantasy, or contemporary-elevated (which is not my regular every day).

#MSWL a YA fantasy HACKSAW RIDGE. This was a war movie that felt so different to me because of who Desmond Doss was.Literary Agent

I loved the grounded fantasy of THE MERCIFUL CROW. It dealt with alot of issues, and had alot of themes working for it. #MSWL

Rereading Silent Spring, and I can’t help think about Wilder Girls and I want to talk to Rory Power about biological warfare, synthetic pesticides, and the ways in which (if any!) that affected her book and research. Have you read WG, yet???Biological warfare in a fantasy could be cool. #MSWL

In all my #MSWL, I haven't said epic fantasy. I love fantasy, but guys, make feel new. I hang in the space as a reader not just as an agent, so to hook me, you're gonna have to know the literary legacies and the tropes and how to break them.

#MSWL Lady Spies who use traditionally feminine skills (like knitting, or embroidery) to convey messages to their fellow spies. And bonus points, make it fantasy.

I just got up to stretch and saw a Salem Witch Trial NF book. Can someone please write me Salem Witch Trials but in a fantasy world? You'd have to know the history leading up to the witch trials, and then figure out for your new fantasy world, but SO COOL. #MSWL

I want a YA that deals with weight in a real way. Body positivitiy, but also does acknowledge the feelings overweight girls get in this world. And I don't mind if it comes in a fantasy #MSWL

I need more graphic novels. I love rom-coms, fantasy, and genre bending. Recent fave reads: JANE, PERSEPHONE, SLAM, LUMBERJANES. #MSWL

I really want to find some great MG fantasy. Until some of my favorite recent reads sell, you won't know the names, but I would love to see an immersive world and epic adventure. #MSWL

Another #MSWL: Salem Witch trials but in a fantasy world.

4. I want a cinematic, high concept fantasy unlike anything I have seen before. I love unlikable ladies (but they must still be relatable), and I would love a single POV. Character driven is the BEST for me. With literary-esque writing. #MSWL

Also, while I do love dark fantasy, I would love to see some fantasy that can serve our younger YA readers. Like Tamora Pierce and Sherwood Smith use to. Diverse reads we can give 12-15 set. #MSWL

-Well-written psychological friendship book (YA)

- Historical Fiction like @RutaSepetys
- Quirky, Fun, Voicey MG
