#MSWL a YA fantasy HACKSAW RIDGE. This was a war movie that felt so different to me because of who Desmond Doss was.

More just we see alot of stabby stab in fantasy but what if there was a main character who said no. I just love how inspiring Doss was, saving lives. #MSWL #YA

@Quiberonq I read alot of YA as a kid but I am seeing the progression of it get heavier. Like PRINCESS DIARIES, ALANNA: THE FIRST KNIGHT, CROWN DUEL are all YA today but I would say Younger side. And I would love to see diverse younger YA in those same veins.

I will say that if anyone wants to write and deliver the POC Alanna, I would be down for that. #MSWL #YoungYA

So what if we took that Sarah Dessen/Jenny Han fluffy cheerful aesthetic and made the characters Black and just had a whole genre that was joyful Black kids? Black teen beach reads. Something for the summer, something to dance to.
