I would love to read a novel that takes place in a boarding school. Authentic writing is a MUST so if you didn’t go to a boarding school your research better be so incredible as to trick me into thinking you did. (I am not easily tricked.)

I love novels that deal with female relationships. Think: best friends; mother-and-daughter(s); sisters (incl twins!); sisters-in-law; mother-in-law and daughter-in-law; and girlfriends. Bonus points above apply.

In terms of FICTION: I am a sucker for novels about dysfunctional families. Extra bonus points if they’re wealthy (think HBO’s Succession) because, let’s face it, reading about rich people in trouble is fun. Super extra bonus points if there’s an immigrant angle in there.

My dearest #amquerying writers: I have new submission guidelines up on the @TRFNews website, so I thought it would be a good time to update—and elaborate on—my #MSWL all for Adult (I don’t rep YA, MG, etc.) (A thread).

BIG SIGH.
Okay. So somewhere post-A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, self-insert fanfics, an incurable manga habit and now teens reality shifting on TikTok, I’m finally ready to say this:
Please send me your Isekai/LitRPG manuscripts.

I know #DayOfTheGirl was yesterday, but I can't resist sharing one of my favorite empowering YA reads geared toward girls.Who else has book recs? (Bonus if they're nonfiction!) pic.twitter.com/599wS7KG4e
Also going to add that this brand of YA nonfiction is an absolute #mswl for me. The business angle, the creativity, the list vibes, etc.

Here is a piece I wrote last week for @thenovelry about my career so far in publishing, the far-fetched scenarios that run through my head all day long, and what we are looking for @TheSohoAgencyUK 💛📚

I've noticed some things I always fall for:
Wine shops/wineries
Swamps
HIlariously awkward gay boys
Historical where they brush fingers and is a MOOD
MG where girls like ghosts and frogs and deep convos
Flying ships
Nerdy yet awe-inspiring talents
ANGST

Still here for witches. Please & thanks.
Especially modern witches. Crystals. Herbs hanging from kitchen ceiling and running a clinic in town with remedies that don't poison you with chemicals.
Maybe solving a murder or two along the way 😉

I would LOVE an LGBTQ+ rom com where they just ARE. They love, they fight, they live.
Give me POC who don't have to justify themselves constantly. They can have their own plot and action and agency and not answer to others.

Tropes I see too much of:
Waking up with powers. Love interest next door. Evil stepmother/aunt/uncle angle. Romeo/Juliet love conflict from white/cis view.
No Greek myth stories unless SUPER twisting it into something new

But with the dos, there are also don'ts.
I'm not huge for sexual/physical/drug abuse or assault. I'm not usually one for suicidal ideation in stories. Might be a great story, but might not be for me
