I'm open to most things but actively DO NOT WANT: climate fiction, pro-religious texts and as always, any author that is not writing to uplift every child regardless of family, heritage, body, heart or soul.

I'd like to see fantasy that tackles climate change. I see it a lot in sci-fi and horror, but less so in fantasy, and I think it could be interesting and unique. Any age category! #mswl

—Stories that examine contemporary issues using horror/speculative elements as the vehicle (think Jordan Peele or Stephen Graham Jones)
—Sentient plants or natural settings with a sinister undertone (a la Annihilation)—bonus if it speaks to our climate crisis without being too heavy handed

Right now I'm very interested in:
- dark academia that emphasizes the academics
- eco/climate fiction
- thrillers that aren't centered on/launched by murder
- #ownvoices folklore from cultures that are underrepresented in the English market

4. Eco-fiction: This one is so important to me as a climate advocate. I'd love to see YA stories about teens addressing climate change, fighting for environmental issues, or trying to save a species from extinction. Tug at my heartstrings and make me want to save the world. (5/8)

Speculative stories - I'm NOT a good fit for rigid dystopias full of government control and categorization of the populace.

Please send me speculative worlds that look like ours with One Big Change. Show me the human response to disaster, politics, or climate change. #MSWL

Pondering my current #mswl. I’d still love to see some high-concept YA romance (if queer then all the better) that addresses the climate crisis… ecological, possibly international, could be a version of our world, could be fantasy?

In addition, you know what I honestly have grown to strongly dislike? Cli-fi or any sort of climate fueled fiction that has a the entire story based around preventing some sort of natural disaster or scientific natural disaster due to climate. I can learn to love fantasy… #mswl

With natural disaster or elemental elements that could be based off the climate crisis, but if you’re calling your book Cli-Fi or that it’s based around a deteriorating climate…I will unfortunately, probably, reject it. Even then, I’ll only be open for YA Sci-Fi at that. #mswl
