In a rare episode of Tara Has An Opinion About Picture Books, can I just say to publishing: please use them as an opportunity to teach kids pronoun flexibility! I WISH I had learned it earlier + would probably have less slip-ups today. There’s no reason to be so rigid.#MSWL (Is that the hashtag?) I made the mistake of starting The Vampire Diaries on Netflix (it's my first time watching the series) and now all I can think about is vampire lore. I am ready for a vampire resurgence.To be more specific when it comes to books, my Young Adult vampire-themed #MSWL would look something like this: new twists on classic tropes; more interested in a badass character than "vamp with a soul"; the Pink Ladies or T-Birds... but vampires!

Trying to work out what kind of bird I could hear, then realised it wad my neighbour's baby, crying, and being answered by a crow.Took about ten minutes, but the crow calmed it and now both crow and baby are cawing to each other.

I'm so hungry for a good YA sci-fi novel that gives me Mass Effect vibes. Where the character arcs and relationships are just as in-depth as the world building.

Probably weird but when it comes to cults (#MSWL) I'm less interested in the disillusionment/escape (still here for that but it's all I see), and more in the ways characters find themselves drawn in, buying in w/o realizing it's a cult (twisted psych and unreliable narrators FTW)Same #MSWL
