Contemporary #YA with a literary voice about ordinary teens dealing with life, family, relationships, friendships falling apart, sexuality, mental health, or recovery. A blend of genre and literary would be best of all.

Send me adult + #YA literary thrillers and horror. I am a suspense junkie, who loves to be scared, and I can go very, very dark--except please no violence against children or rape. But blood and gore are fine.
As are creepy dolls and bad romance (but maybe not together?).

I know seeing Bad Queer Lit Takes on Twitter gets really anxiety inducing for authors, so lemme tell you as someone who gets piles of requests for very specific queer recs every day: all the things you fear no one wants are wanted very badly by somebody. My favorite novels are literary stories focused on family, relationships, sexuality, mental illness, or recovery.
In particular, stories that explore sexuality are near + dear to my heart. I needed those stories when I was a teen (and still need/love/want them today) #MSWL

I love literary horror with richly developed characters and settings. Think Shirley Jackson. #MSWL

Literary psychological horror that blurs the lines between the real and the imagined. Is it real or is it all in my head? #MSWL

A literary story about teen sobriety and recovery. The conscious decision to change your life; how hard it is to get and stay sober. #MSWL
