#MSWL I adore an amazing twist that I never saw coming!! Especially if it feels earned

#MSWL I’m particularly excited to discover stories by and about underrepresented voices in all of the genres I’m looking for, and will be prioritizing those submissions

#MSWL Horror! I'm still loving horror of all flavors, but I’d love to see more high concept horror that turns tropes on their head to stand out amongst the crowd

#MSWL Speculative book club fiction where one thing is changed about the world, and how that influences the characters and society around them. Think THE MEASURE, NEVER LET ME GO, THE MERGE, or SEVERANCE (the tv show)

#MSWL Genre-bending with a stellar one-line hook! I adore reading surprising genre mashups, especially in the fantasy, SF, and horror spaces, or something fun like HOW TO KILL A GUY IN TEN DATES

This is a high priority for me in YA in particular!

-SF or science fantasy with a fresh concept that would appeal to a mainstream audience
-I’m specifically looking for the above wish list items from underrepresented voices

-Adult horror based on intriguing historical events (e.g. The Donner Party in Alma Katsu’s THE HUNGER)
-High concept adult fiction with a speculative thread for the book club space

I'm always looking to prioritize stories by marginalized voices in these spaces, as well as stories that focus on intersectionality

#MSWL I'm interested in more psychological reads in this realm and NOT as much paranormal monsters (zombies, vampires, werewolves, etc.), political thrillers, or police/detective/military stories.

#MSWL I’m getting a lot of great subs in since I opened up, but not a lot in what I’m REALLY hankering for right now: adult horror, thrillers, suspense whether they are grounded or have more of a supernatural element. I want to be unsettled and engrossed!

I keep meaning to post about my new obsession! Give me horror like Archive 81 where the reveals are big, twisting, and consistent #MSWL
