For a YA/crossover readership (my initial focus), I'd particularly love to see original, immersive speculative and fantasy novels (especially if inspired by an unusual setting or underrepresented history, mythology or culture), horror, dystopian, romance and thrillers.

I'm hoping to rep YA, New Adult, and Adult fiction written by, for, and about traditionally underrepresented communities -- authors who write in these categories and are BIPOC, neurodiverse, queer, disabled, immigrants, etc., please come say hi! I want to work with you. :) #MSWL

I'd also like grounded fantasy or magical realism, sci fi, dystopian, paranormal, and select romance. Additionally, I'm seeking contemporary, coming-of-age stories with characters from low-income families and historical fiction featuring historically underrepresented identities.

As an immigrant, I am passionate about championing marginalized creators and uplifting historically underrepresented voices. This will be a huge driving force for my list. Alright, let's get into the specific age categories!

Suspense/thriller: I want shocking, twisty books that are instant page-turners! Always looking for works by authors from underrepresented communities but in this genre especially. Would love to see something that also speaks to socioeconomic or other issues (but no focus on politics, please!).

14/ Finally, I want to connect w/ historically marginalized and underrepresented writers! We need the stories that only YOU can tell in this world. Queer/Trans protagonists, love stories, or just-existing-casually-because-that's-real-life; plus BIPOC perspectives and disabled voices across genres. 🙏

On the nonfiction side, I'm looking for fresh prescriptive nonfiction with a strong platform. I'm drawn to books made for an underrepresented audience, as long as there's a clear market for them. #MSWL

4/ HISTORICAL: underrepresented identities & unconventional heroines. Dual timelines, family secrets, lost histories. The setting should feel immersive. I'd love to see a nomadic set of characters—travel by train/ship/on foot. I'd love a Harlem Renaissance novel, or the next "Lessons in Chemistry."

As always, I'm seeking stories from Indigenous writers. These seem to be very underrepresented in publishing, so let's try to change that. Any topic or age category. #MSWL

In historical fiction, I'm leaning towards more recent stories - 20th century and beyond. I'm very keen to see underrepresented settings and characters - the kinds of stories we don't usually get to see told.

I have a number of brilliant contemp romance writers on my list, so I am particularly keen to find something different there. Love stories with an underrepresented culture or experience at the centre will be most welcome. BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ writers, I'd love to hear from you!
