I will go for messy family stories before I go for messy friendship stories. I’m especially keen on complicated love-hate sibling relationships.

I do love historical stories across genres! I would love more stories centering real-life revolutions and recessions. My white whale is any accounts of Jose Martí. And if you take inspiration from Edwidge Danticat pls query me!!

TV Show comps that will always make me pause are The Bear, Peaky Blinders, and Frontier. I would honestly kill for an indigenous POV look at the fur trapping industry, or raw, demystifying looks at the restaurant industry (Top Chef horror would be dope)

In terms of more specific #mswl asks, I am obsessed with vicious, evil, terrifying mermaids and sea creatures. None of that Ariel crap. I want my mermaids with blubber and claws pls.

Right now I would absolutely love to see more Latine/Latinx, Caribbean, first gen, and acespec voices in my queries as those are my lived experiences but am excited to see works from all walks of life!
