Adria Goetz @adriamgoetzPEARL by Molly Ide. A very special tale.
MERMAID AND ME by Soosh. For every little girl who dreamed of having a mermaid best friend! pic.twitter.com/1WvAi2uW3q
I’m so excited to shepherd more mermaid books into the world! It delights me that writers know I love mermaids, because it means a lot of mermaid projects swim into my inbox, which is the best. Keep 'em coming. ✨🧜🏾♀️💜
I'm forever on the hunt for more funny picture books. Please send me your humor! I'm open to all types: loud, zany, quirky, strange, dry, subversive, potty, punny. Whatever you got, send it my way! #MSWL
I'm getting a lot of queries for PBs about COVID-19. These probably aren't going to be the right fit for me. I'd be more interested in a book like THE BREAKING NEWS by @sarahlynnereul, which takes a broader approach to scary world events + will have a long shelf life. #MSWL
Lane @lanewriteswordsSo what if we took that Sarah Dessen/Jenny Han fluffy cheerful aesthetic and made the characters Black and just had a whole genre that was joyful Black kids? Black teen beach reads. Something for the summer, something to dance to.
This is a major #MSWL vibe.
Atlas Obscura @atlasobscuraThis colony of glowworms—one of the largest in all of New South Wales—illuminates the stale, inky air like a constellation of blue-green stars. trib.al/4q6NtKA
Just want to reiterate that I've always wanted to work on a glowworm picture book! I think it would be so visually dazzling. #MSWL
Adria Goetz @adriamgoetzOn Feb. 26 at 10 AM PST, I'm doing a live webinar for #12x12PB. I'll be talking about:

In short: my dream book has lovely sentence-level writing that pulls me in to the pages, an interesting plot with a good hook, is accessible but smart, and something with commercial oomph. That’s not asking for too much, right?? #MSWL
2. Women’s Fiction! I’d love to find the next Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick. (This is a WISH list, remember?) I love interesting voices/POVs, dual timelines with a historical feel, rhythmic language, generational sagas. #MSWL
Here are some specifics on what I’ll be looking for:
1. Thrillers! I love gritty, juicy, scandalous thrillers. My favorite thriller authors include Gillian Flynn, Jessica Knoll, Lisa Jewell, and I’m excited to read what Samantha Downing + Wendy Heard write next. #MSWL
As of today, I am officially opening to submissions for Adult Fiction. (!!!) I am specifically interested in female-driven Thrillers/Suspense, and Women’s Fiction. Help me spread the word? 💜
A quick glance at my #MSWL for 2020:
✨MG + YA Graphic Novels
✨PB author/illustrator w/ a magical hand-rendered aesthetic
✨The next Brian Selznick
✨PBs with humor + heart
✨Hooky, commercial MG + YA
✨Quirky gift books
I got my hair cut today and there was a tiny, precious 4-year-old boy getting his hair cut at the station next to me. Stylist said he keeps a stuffed animal around for the boys because the clippers scare them.🥺
Long story short, I NEED to rep a "first hair cut" PB.💈#MSWL
