My advice might not be helpful to you, but I will tell you what I tell my clients: "write what you are compelled to write, don't write for trends."

I am very selective, but...good question! I don't keep stats, but my gut feeling....Hmmm, I may request somewhere between 15 to 50 manuscripts per thousand queries.

I don't know. You're asking the wrong person. If *I* am interested in something, I request the full. Maybe it comes from the time when there was no email to avoid printing and receiving all the paper?!? It's email, if I like it, I read on, if I don't, I pass, why not the full?!?

I guess it all depends on how great the writing, the plot, the story is. However, it DOES seem a bit short to me. Try, and see what happens.

#MSWL: Currently, I am specifically looking for YA rom-coms, funny MG, adult suspense, and high concept Women's Fiction.

On the children's fiction side, I would love to see more contemporary YA fiction (the funnier the better), as well as graphic novels. No PBs for the time being. #MSWL

On the adult nonfiction side, I would love to see more pop culture projects. #MSWL

On the adult fiction side, I would love to see more upmarket Women's Fiction, as well as edge-of-your-seat suspense. #MSWL

These are dark times. So for distraction & entertainment I need suspense to lose myself in, or stories that make me laugh and feel. So give me loads of suspense for mysteries, and rom coms with a twist for Women's Fiction, YA and MG. #MSWL

I'd love to see more contemporary YA and MG that makes me laugh, including, but not exclusively, rom-coms. Additionally, I would love retellings where the story is told with the former antagonist becoming the protagonist. #MSWL

I am still, and always, looking for smart, fun YA. I like it all: Rom coms, friendship stories, siblings stories. Well written and smart, make me laugh and cry. #MSWL.

#MSWL: Adult Fiction: I would love to read a novel with twists on classic noirs that play with genre conventions. OR an edge of your seat psychological thriller. OR a thriller that is set in 1950s NYC.

A #MSWL from me: I would really LOVE to receive some really smart, funny Contemporary YA submissions. Books that make you laugh AND think. Along the lines of, i.e.: "I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE," or "WHEN DIMPLE MET RISHI," or "THE LAKE EFFECT."

I want something as great as this. #MSWL
