I still want historical fiction that focuses on a well-known or largely unknown historical figure. Famous authors/movers/shakers, people who knew/loved/were related to famous authors/movers/shakers, like LOVING FRANK. #MSWL

I still want books that focus on internet culture, fiction and nonfiction. #MSWL

I'd also like some upmarket fiction that revolves around an event that changes a group of people. #MSWL

Also, those kinds of books tend to be big on action and light on characters, which isn't my thing. So even if it was really YA, I probably wouldn't be interested. #MSWL

If the title of your book is SO AND SO AND THE SOMETHING SOMETHING, it probably isn't right for me. Why? Because most of those books are MG, which I don't rep. Some people will mis-categorize these books as YA, but when I read it, it's usually a younger voice. #MSWL

I'd love to see more true crime books that speak to a broader social issue, with a strong platform. #MSWL

I always want #ownvoices books. If a book isn't #ownvoices I'm much more hesitant to take it on. #MSWL

I'm always looking for culturally relevant stories that won't be out of date five years from now. In other words, focus on the social issue, not the specific people involved. This goes for fiction and nonfiction. #MSWL

For YA, I love mysteries, historical, contemporary, magical realism, psychological/literary horror, contemporary w/ a very light speculative touch. I love funny books, I love serious books. #MSWL

I love books with a high-concept hook, like THE DEAD QUEEN'S CLUB. #MSWL

I loved Hallie Rubenhold's THE FIVE. It was so deeply researched and written with such empathy. It's a great example of the kind of narrative nonfiction I love, though I also like more modern narrative nonfiction like THE SHORT AND TRAGIC LIFE OF ROBERT PEACE. #MSWL

I loved the creepiness and gorgeous writing of Mona Awad's BUNNY. It hooks you with a recognizable premise, and then it goes all WTF on you. Send me BUNNY books! #MSWL

The Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley are like candy to me. If you send me something with a protagonist like her, I will be all over it. #MSWL

I loved the quirkiness and character depth of CONVENIENCE STORE WOMAN. I'd love an offbeat novel like that. #MSWL

I want psychological, literary horror that focuses on the characters and their relationships. #MSWL

I like books that combine genres. Like I would love a horror western or a mystery with magical realism. #MSWL

I also love historical fiction, though I'm mostly interested in the 1700s-1960s. Anything set in the ancient world typically isn't my thing. #MSWL

What I'm most interested in is fresh mysteries with strong characters. It could be a cozy, a psychological suspense, a police procedural, etc. My mystery tastes are pretty broad. #MSWL
