Hana E @hel_no_wai
happy weekend, y'all! thanks for the warm reception to this 💕now that i've shared all the ~official info and links, join me as i share my #mswl in its purest format: a chaotic twitter thread (while we can still tweet lol), gifs, and tiktoks!!!!! pic.twitter.com/k1vLtlXECe
i've been thinking about it for 2 months so it's only fitting to start here: the scene in wakanda forever where namor says to [redacted] 'let's burn the world together'? i want the version where [redacted] says 'bet' and all the messy *nuanced* consequences that follow!! #mswl

"I want joyful novels and powerful memoirs about the adoptee experience, written by adoptees. I can't stress that enough."

No shade to the many brilliant books that address trauma but this year I’d love to have more subs that don’t claim this as their key feature. Playfulness, irreverence, something sweet, sharp, fresh, smart. Please. Or gothic and dark and twisty. Just…a bit less trauma. There you go, that’s my #MSWL - plus crime, lots of crime. Check out my profile to see the kind of things I like to read/am looking for.

Perennial favorite themes: cons, hoaxes, fish out of water, outsiders becoming insiders, upstairs/downstairs themes, family dramas (esp those with a humorous element a la THE NEST or THE MOST FUN WE EVER HAD, though I wouldn't kick a heartbreaker like ASK AGAIN YES out of bed)

And finally: I'd love a timely upmarket thriller with a ripped from the headlines hook and killer characters. Think ANATOMY OF A SCANDAL or PEOPLE LIKE HER.

(Please note while I'd love a love story set in the past, particularly if it is of the epic, sweeping variety - I'm not the right agent for historical romance)

As for historical: I'm always on the lookout for previously untold stories and unheard perspectives, particularly those of forgotten/misunderstood women a la THE PARIS WIFE, WEYWARD, THE CHRISTIE AFFAIR.
