#MSWL Please send me stories about learning how to lose (or handle rejection) with grace.

#MG especially, but also #PB and #YA.

The New Yorker @NewYorker

“We really wanted to make the teen film to end all teen films,” Winona Ryder said, of “Heathers.” Instead of putting an end to the genre, though, “Heathers” gave it a new life: nyer.cm/wCvC0hX pic.twitter.com/W4bg0Alszy

I would love to find Heathers in my inbox. I have a thing for bad boyfriends. #MSWL

(In fact, I had a dream last night I was back together with the baddest of my bad boyfriends, and even though I knew better, I still couldn't resist him.)

Thriller writers: I'd love to see a big pharma version of "The Big Short." (adult or even YA, with a teen protagonist affected by the opiate crisis). Please send my way. #MSWL nyti.ms/2HniDgu

I love the idea that magic could be lurking in our world, if only we knew where to look. Have such a story (PB, MG, YA, adult speculative/horror)? Please send it my way! #MSWL

Wanted: stories about bullies who become aware of + take responsibility for their actions, and emerge at the end of the story wiser and more empathetic.

#MSWL Still looking for a creepy MG ghost story. One of my favorite books as a kid was THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS*, by John Bellairs. Would love to find a modern day haunted house MG.

(*The illustration of the headlights still keeps me up at night. Eep!)

#MSWL Looking for a YA version of The Hand That Feeds You, by A.J. Rich.

*I have a thing for bad boyfriends, bad girlfriends, and badly behaving friends (in stories, that is, not real life).

The practical magic of Joan Aiken, the greatest children’s writer you’ve likely never read: nyer.cm/uffQewY pic.twitter.com/CuA7a9E260

One of my favorite books as a child was NIGHT FALL, by Joan Aiken. I read it over and again.

I love thrilling stories of suspense about secret pasts and repressed memories. #MSWL

Melissa Albert @mimi_albert

THE HAZEL WOOD is six months (and two days) old, and I'm celebrating with a giveaway!! RT by 8/3, 5pm EST, for a chance to win a copy of the ridiculously cool French edition. ☕️🥞✨ pic.twitter.com/9VI0MyBArW

LOVE the French cover of THE HAZEL WOOD, by Melissa Albert, one of my favorite 2018 #YA reads!

P.S. I would love to find a fantasy grounded in our reality like THE HAZEL WOOD. it is so much fun to think magic might exist, if only we look in the right place.
