I always always love contemporaries (YA/MG) with splashes of extra (sci-fi, fantasy, etc). Just good, commercial hooks. #MSWL

My overarching #MSWL: Timeless + timely. Writers who deeply understand literary tradition and and know where to adapt it for modern readers.

Louder for the kids in the back: These are the books I read on vacation. These are the kind of books I want more of in my queries. #MSWL

Really hungry for some funny, heartfelt, non-issue-heavy MG, with great family relationships. My list has nothing but room for MG. #mswl

I’m a fan of both faith and science. Kidlit novels that do more with that would be welcome. Hold the sanctimony though. #MSWL

I’m looking for books that are big on: imagination, escapism, other-worldiness, nerdy inspiration, high emotional stakes. #MSWL

I am actively diversifying my list. So #ownvoices & #wndb are priorities for everything I just mentioned. #MSWL

I am also looking for non-fiction for MG/YA! Narrative NF, memoir, or just intriguing topics that kids can see themselves in. #MSWL

For MG/YA, I’m looking for high-concept or commercial-leaning fiction. Good plots and good twists. Not picky on genre (but NO horror). #MSWL
