YA:
- Would love some more big romance with a hook. Smart and swoony. If there's an irreverent quality to it (ala VIOLET MADE OF THORNS), all the better.
- Speculative twists and hooks. Splashes of magic or sci-fi.
- Books that feel like going on a vacation somewhere exciting.

I call my taste "timeless meets timely" meaning I like books that lean into a genre or trope but spin it for a modern reader. Fairytales? Princesses? Magical creatures? Sci-fi adventures? Great! Update it. #MSWL

For YA, same kind of deal. Strong voice. Strong concept/plot. Escapism, fantasy, sci-fi, speculative, magical realism—all awesome. Not crazy about depressing, issue-heavy books. No horror/thriller for me. #mswl #ya

A mini #MSWL princess thread: I really do love princess stories, but be INVENTIVE. But go forward, not backward. Maybe some SF princesses?

That would be nice. Or just use a story as a launch point for a cool sci-fi twist. The less literal the better. #MSWL

I always always love contemporaries (YA/MG) with splashes of extra (sci-fi, fantasy, etc). Just good, commercial hooks. #MSWL
