Deborah Nemeth @DebNemethThis review mentions something I love seeing in romance manuscript submissions. I want to see main characters who are not looking for romance. Who are not jealous of paired-up friends, who are not told to date/get laid, who are not super aware of their single state. twitter.com/SmartBitches/s…
What I want to see instead in romance submissions are characters who are intent on achieving some sort of goal, who are leading interesting lives that get knocked sideways by the love interest. #MSWL
✊🏽✊🏽 NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE ✊🏽✊🏽 @swindlesoireeIt is more radical to publish Black joy than it is to publish Black trauma, pass it on.
Deborah Nemeth @DebNemeth#MSWL For Carina Adores, I'd love to acquire a queer marriage of convenience contemporary.
Or a queer take on any of my fave tropes...
#MSWL Some of my favorite tropes include secret agenda, secret identity...secrets in general. Fake dating, arranged marriages, second chance, forbidden love, and forced proximity. I enjoy stories with strong family elements, and characters that are quirky and smart.
Kimberley Bailey @KimBailey1019Do you have any specific #MSWLs that you're wanting to see in any of the genres besides what's on the blog? #carinachat
My #MSWL includes escapist reads and feel-good stories these days. Romcoms, lighthearted characters, lower-angst conflict, light paranormal elements, humorous cozies. Stories with cookies and puppies and bighearted characters. Make me smile!
#MSWL I’m eager to acquire for @CarinaPress’s newest line, Adores, featuring LGBTQ+ characters, and I’m especially interested in #ownvoices submissions. Here’s a link for more information about the requirements for Adores:

beth phelan (closed to unsolicited queries) @beth_phelani feel like there is all this anxiety surrounding agents' mswl's because i think it can feel like a "skip the line" opportunity, and in some ways it is, but ultimately i think a lot of us are also looking to be surprised and find something in our inbox we hadn't thought of yet.
This applies to editors too: I don't always know what I want to acquire until I read it. If a ms doesn't fit my exact wishlist, a submitting author/agent shouldn't be concerned. I'm most excited by fresh ideas that surprise me. The only limitation is if we pub that genre.

Carina Press @CarinaPressAttention writers! @DebNemeth wants you to make her smile with your lighthearted romantic capers! Find more information and submission guidelines here ► bit.ly/2RQykgu #CarinaWants #AmWriting pic.twitter.com/2eqURiQJpU
Yes, please send me all the lighthearted mysteries, rom coms, capers, and historical romps. I'm eager to acquire new voices that make me laugh! #MSWL
Deborah Nemeth @DebNemethI often post about my editor wishlist but the truth is I don't always know what I want till I read it. I never knew I wanted a mystery series with a dowser sleuth till @authorwendy subbed it. Never knew I'd love a paranormal mystery with a not-ghost sleuth till @jeralibu wrote it
So just because your story doesn't appear to match my editor wishlist, don't hesitate to send it in anyway. The unexpected stories are often the most exciting. I'm reading a manuscript submission right now that's giving me that delight in the unexpected. #MSWL
🌺N.G. Peltier🌺 @trinielf- more books set outside the US/UK that isn't told through the white foreigner's lens plz >.>
- more grumpy older heroine who don't want kids
- grumpy/cheery pairings where heroine is grumpy one
- interracial romance where none of the MCs are white 🤷🏽♀️
#MSWL All of these please
Babs B @Babs7169I would love stories with adventurous heroines (like Amelia Peabody, Veronica Speedwell, Lady Trent) but with WOC and more sexy times! Doesn’t need to be historical or m/f. #RomBkLove twitter.com/anacoqui/statu…
Alec Luhn @ASLuhnArkady Babchenko is actually alive, the whole death thing was actually a special operation to catch those plotting to kill him, he says at a press conference. Wow. Only in Ukraine zona.media/news/2018/05/3… pic.twitter.com/W1R98JQqSA
Deborah Nemeth @DebNemethI am super interested in acquiring romcom manuscripts this year, especially ones that are tightly written with snappy dialogue! #MSWL twitter.com/CarinaPress/st…
My interest in lighthearted romance and romcoms extends to male/male romance and romantic suspense and capers, of all heat levels, and historical & paranormal romances too. I'm also interested in humorous cozy mysteries. Make me laugh! #MSWL
