My dudes (because it is always the dude writers), it does not give a female main character “strength” to be sexually assaulted for the sake of “character building” in her first chapter. It just shows that you’re a hack. Consider this my anti-#MSWL.

I’m not much of a horror fan, but it just struck me that I’d love to see a YA along the lines of IT FOLLOWS. Something scary as hell that addresses teen sexuality (but is sex-positive, not moralizing) #mswl

“That vein” = exploring the way technology impacts our lives in an interesting new way. If your YA novel could be described as “like Black Mirror but fluffy,” I want to see it.

Recently finished watching Love Alarm on Netlix and boooo hissss that ending but also #MSWL, I want a YA in that vein!

A YA about a weird, immersive summer job & all the relationships that come out of it. Adventureland for teens. #MSWL

I just watched Little Witch Academia & it was my favorite. Badass lil witches learning about magic & how to be friends. MG, I think. #MSWL

A complicated, messy, heartbreaking, hysterical, ultimately loving story about female friendship in YA. #MSWL

A YA about a teen's devotion to a craft (a sport, an instrument, etc) and what that means for the other aspects of their life. #MSWL
