Rachel Diebel 🌻 @diebelraI ‘ M S O R R Y I just learned that Amelia Earhart and Eleanore Roosevelt were probably gay for each other and idk how someone can shoehorn this into a commercial YA novel but #MSWL please someone try
Kyle Lukoff @Shekels_LibraryIt looks like there are a bunch of trans kidlit writers coming out with books in the next couple years, which is great, but...I'm not sure if there are any trans women? Which is the opposite of acceptable.
My client list is super queer but I am definitely on the lookout for stories by trans women, both in fiction and non-fiction! We need these stories. I represent all ages, but primarily focus on childrens, picture books through YA! #mswl
Something I've been doing this week is look for trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer illustrators. So many of the books I represent are written by and tell the stories of those identities and it would be great to have the covers illustrated by queer artists. Hit me up! #MSWL
Preeti Chhibber @runwithskizzersIt's pride month! I'm gonna re-up my publishing ask for more upper middle-grade / younger YA books that feature kids (esp kids of color) who identify as being on the ltbtqia+ spectrum, THANKS.
This is eternally on my #MSWL. I really want diverse lgbtqia+ middle grade on my client list, especially stories for those queer girl-identifying tweens.
Britni de la Cretaz ⚾️ @britnidlcI dug through hundreds of obituaries & spoke to gay ballplayers from the 1940s up through the 1990s to find the queer history of women in baseball that we stand to lose if it isn't documented. narrative.ly/the-hidden-que…
This piece on the queer women of baseball is brilliant and worth a read to start off #Pride. Also, if anyone's writing a queer take of A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, please send it my way! I'd love to find a F/F historical YA sports project. #MSWL
In honor of the #alayma this morning, here is a #MSWL of the awards I'd love to have a client receive someday. The Schneider Family Book Award and The Stonewall Book Award. Even better if it's in one book! So send me your LGBTQAI+ and disability rep.
Dahlia Adler @MissDahlELamaI get *so* many requests for trans guy books on the LGBTQReads Tumblr and giving the same 10 titles over and over again is getting really sad. If you're a trans guy even thinking about writing an #ownvoices book, I really, really hope you do it.
And when you write it, please send it to me to rep! #mswl
