Evergreen Tweet. β¨ pic.twitter.com/uaUe3RqwbuTropes are tropes for a reason: people love them. And they love seeing their comfort content through different lenses. These worlds are universal; we should show that! I am here all dayβtruly willing to wait in the QueryManager lobby for hoursβfor these stories. #MSWL

#MSWL Would really love to see a thriller where the person being pursued is just as ruthless as the pursuant. A real "oh you messed with the wrong woman." Has been trained in combat, is a recreational fighter, HOME ALONE style trapsβgive me all of it. In both YA and adult.

#MSWL update! I'm now accepting thrillers in adult fiction (as well as in YA, which has always been the case). I am NOT looking for anything law-enforcement focused, including FBI/CIA. I am looking for the story to contribute to a larger sociopolitical conversation.

If youβre a MG horror author whoβs like βhm I think Iβm gonna submit to that Savannah Brooks fellow, she seems coolβ but donβt know what my ~spooky aesthetic~ is, I just finished reading THIRTEENS, and it nailed the location-based spooks Iβm pining for. I want a spook town. #MSWL

Today is the perfect day to remind folks that I would love a picture book, fiction or nonfiction, that celebrates Eid (and all of Ramadan)! I love narrative, educational stories that invite lush illustration. #MSWL

Adult: I'm technically open to it, because who knows what I'll find, but it's a super hard sell. I'm only interested in #ownvoices projects that walk the line of being funny and lighthearted while still adding to a larger sociopolitical conversation.

Literary Agent
YA: the MC needs to have a strange interest that teaches me something new. I don't do super heavy (sexual assault, addiction, abuse, suicide), and I like to laugh. Not a good fit for sad w/o humor. Quirky voice gets me every time. I love female friendship/empowerment and spooks.

Literary Agent
For MG fiction, my interests fall heavily on the action-adventure scale, especially stories informed by non-western mythology and folklore. Loud and funny is a better fit than quiet and contemplative. In nonfiction, I love topics that kidsβand Iβcan geek out about.

If you're thinking of querying me but don't know if your project is a fit, here's some #MSWL framing that should help:For PB, I want 1) content that looks seriously at sociopolitical realities that kids face, ultimately ending with empowerment and hope, 2) stories that teach readers about a new place and/or culture, 3) nonfiction that delights and inspires. Only interested in #ownvoices.
