Fifty years ago today the Young Lords, a militant Puerto Rican liberation organization based in NYC, occupied Lincoln Hospital (aka The Butcher Shop) in the Bronx. They left behind a legacy of community health care.filtermag.org/how-the-young-… pic.twitter.com/jAqVfOP9Ix
Please, Puerto Rican writers: Write a book about the Young Lords for kids or YA and send it to me. DMs are open. #MSWL @WritersofColor

Are there any SFF stories/novels about a pandemic that mostly kills white people (e.g. the reverse of the one we're living now) & its effects on society? If not, & a BIPOC writer wants to write it for YA: #MSWL

@chavelaque What subject would you like to see more books about?A PB on the Atlanta washerwoman’s strike, or Pullman porters, or the Chicano rights movement; MG novels starring boys of color doing sports; MG or YA NF on topics of POC history #mswl

I enjoyed TSIAAS, but I kept being distracted by calculating their routes & travel times around NYC. “She could *maybe* get there in half an hour if she takes the B to the A & all the trains arrive just right...”FYI, if it’s legally possible, I would 100% publish an #ownvoices YA novel about a teenage girl or boy in the Motown star system. Signed, someone who read DREAMGIRL: MY LIFE AS A SUPREME in high school & *loved* it. #mswl

Coming late to #MSWL Day: Educational PBs that read like trade ones; character-driven MG; truth-telling YA; all of it diverse; #ownvoices preferred.

I'm reading a YA novel where the protagonist measures herself against her confident, bubbly, flirty best friend, & *just once* I'd like a submission where that best friend is the protagonist. #mswl

Netflix just picked up a show centered around a single black mother who’s raising a black 7 year old kid who has superpowers, I can’t wait!! pic.twitter.com/Z23DgcJuRrThis sounds so cool & I would love to read/publish the MG/YA version. #MSWL

I'd love to see more non-dominant perspectives on US history, for picture book thru YA. #mswl

Off a tweet by @rabihalameddine, I'm reading abt pachucas & the Zoot Suit Riots, & someone write me this YA: museumofthecity.org/project/la-pac… #MSWL

I'd love a YA novel about academic competition--debate, quiz bowl, Science Olympiad--that makes them as exciting as physical sports. #MSWL

1) I want to publish a YA with the astounding, hopeless, human, desperately romantic feeling as "Heroes." #MSWL youtube.com/watch?v=YYjBQK…
