And to finish it off, I'm not a fit for: military/police novels, “return to hometown” Hallmark-esque romances, fantasy, science fiction, most young adult, and WWI/WWII historical fiction.

In book club fiction I'd love to see women who gaslight, girlboss, and gatekeep, historical fiction similar to Taylor Jenkins Reid, and/or female-led retellings.

I'm still on the lookout for great rom-coms: enemies-to-lovers is my *favorite* trope, and I'm also more open to historical romance these days (and historical fiction in general).

Since it's still January, time for an updated 2024 #MSWL ! I'm currently really on the lookout for psychological thriller (a la Riley Sager), mysteries (cozy and whodunnits please), and light horror (nothing too gory, I want to sleep at night). Dark academia a plus as well!

I’m on the lookout for family sagas, new adult-ish protagonists, and anything that explores the human experience with nuance.

In literary fiction, I’m interested in messy people making tough choices, campus novels, unlikeable narrators (especially women who either gaslight, girlboss, or gatekeep) who may or may not win you over, and atmospheric writing styles.

In historical fiction, I’d prefer stories not set in Western Europe or the USA. Hidden histories and female-led retellings are also up my alley.

Some tweet-sized updates: For book club fiction, I love voice-driven writing, a social commentary that resonates with the current culture, or a critique on the ideals of femininity.
