Rebecca Mix @rebeccarmixsomeone write me a book about a sex-repulsed ace girl who keeps making pacts with witches and demons and fae, promising them her firstborn for awesome spells and shit, because jokes on them she's NEVER HAVING KIDS and the shenanigans that follow when they all figure it out
Please write me this. #mswl
Hannah Bowman @hannahnpbowmanAnyway coming from today’s discussion of old favorites: please send me more fun young-woman epic fantasy with beautiful dresses, high stakes, and some enemies-to-lovers, thank you. #mswl twitter.com/hannahnpbowman…
Do they end up CARING FOR EACH OTHER’S INJURIES in a TENT during a WAR until TRUST DEVELOPS and SEXUAL TENSION?? Is he shocked to see her in a DRESS not just MUDDY BREECHES after the battle is won? It is my kind of happy epic fantasy. (And I’m in the mood for that!) #mswl
Hannah Bowman @hannahnpbowmanOh man I loved this book. twitter.com/drunk_austen/s…

Joel Cunningham @joelevardIs it too early to declare 2019 the Year of Sprawling Science Fantasy Novels That Giddily Give Zero Fucks for Genre Rules?
No, it is not. pic.twitter.com/cK60j1YP8G
PLEASE SEND ME THE NEXT DRAGONRIDERS OF PERN. #MSWL
a murder of tweets @RyanFMandelbaumand second, gizmodo has started a new series where we have scientists tell us what their dream experiment would be. if you've ever met @jbbeacham you probably already know his: the craziest particle accelerator ever imagined
3. A truly epic space opera. Either one with fascinating and unique worldbuilding (think THE STARS ARE LEGION or A DOOR INTO OCEAN) or one that's just plain fun as well as galaxy-spanning (think the Vorkosigan books). #MSWL
A delightful conversation with an editor this morning has reminded me of some things I'd really like to see #MSWL:
1. A prison-abolitionist utopian SF novel. Think THE DISPOSSESSED but specifically about restorative justice.
2. A really good first contact book like THE SPARROW.
Allison Kilkenny @allisonkilkennyme reading the part where dumbledore dies pic.twitter.com/sEIBKk5qyk
The fact that Snape kills Dumbledore to maintain his cover is honestly one of the best things in those books. Someone write me a new story about a Snape figure making those choices, please. #MSWL
(Don’t tell me about RED RISING I am familiar with that one)
Kenneth F. Duggan @KFDugganJust came across this photo of a hot air balloon in the shape of the Abbey of Saint Gall. I'm sure most of you have seen it before. I hadn't. We need more hot air balloons like this. #medievaltwitter pic.twitter.com/CIl3qJ1z9Z
#MSWL. Please give me abbeys on airships!
Rin Chupeco @RinChupecoFairy tale retelling where the girl befriends the dragon and both proceed to burn the whole kingdom down to the ground for trying to sacrifice her to the dragon in the first place
YES PLEASE #MSWL
Connor Goldsmith @dreamoforgonon@hannahnpbowman @maxgladstone don't forget how centaurs and merfolk aren't classified as people and everyone's like oh that's fine
Re: this thread, if someone wants to write me a fantasy novel about a kid who goes to magic school but realizes the entire structure of the magical world needs to be overthrown, I would be 100% there for that. Bonus points if they have to side with the dark wizards to do it #MSWL
Cathleen McAllister ✨ @cafweenAs the professor guided them through the cavernous hall, sunlight beamed through the colorful lamps and glass ceiling warming the students’ faces. ‘The Great Seed Library,’ she explained, ‘contains every commonplace, rare, and magical seed known to botanists of the world.’ pic.twitter.com/0vi73Ke5Tz
Dylan Meconis @dmeconisIn all the endless breathless fictionalized takes on Jack the Ripper, have we ever done the one where the reason he disappeared was because a team of vengeful Victorian sex workers systematically hunted him down, took him out and dumped his body in the Thames?
Foz Meadows @fozmeadowsY'know, Sleeping Beauty pricking her finger on a spindle and dying is a whole lot more ironic if her mother is the now-queen, former-miller's-daughter from Rumplestiltskin who was meant to spin straw into gold and the evil fairy godmother is avenging her fellow magician.
