@BookEndsJessica Should I include the introduction for a non-fiction book?if you feel it's important to the book. if it's not it probably doesn't belong in the book at all. #askagent

@BookEndsJessica If you're willing to humor me, I have a question. How do you know if your publisher is working for you or just working for your money?I'm always open for questions. Money should always flow to the author, never to the publisher. This way the publisher works and everyone is earning money. #askagent

@BookEndsJessica @MrBeece @dongwon So, if you get an offer, use that info and contact other agents you’ve submitted to? Should you call or email?I would contact them via email or Query Manager in the case of @bookendslit -- in other words the same way you queried them. @BookEndsJessica I'm asking this as a general "would most agents be interested in knowing" question bc I had many full requests for a project (12), but no offers. I took some of their advice, and did a major rewrite/reorg of the ms, so wondering if I should be back in touch. My advice is to write your next book and query that. 12 requests is amazing, but not all agents want to see the same book a second time. Also, revising is hard and not always effective. It's more effective to take what you learned to your next book. #askagent

@debralynnlazar @BookEndsJessica I have the same question. Is it bad to have political posts? I try to keep mine to writing and weird life moments but politics seeps in.It's funny. Years ago I did recommend keeping away from political posts. But the world has changed. I don't think it's a problem like it used to be, but I do think you need to balance with other things. #askagent

@BookEndsJessica Hi Jessica,As I continue revising my novel, I would like to ask you, what computer program do you suggest for writing/formating a novel? What is the standard computer program recommended?
Your reply will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you(!)

This might be a better question for #writingcommunity. I would say Microsoft Word since that's what agents and editors use when editing, but that doesn't mean it's the best program for actually writing. #askagent

@BookEndsJessica If you receive a query and it isn't for you, do you share with others in your firm? Im wondering if it makes sense to query other agents at BookEnds if 2 of you already rejected it.Not typically. Unless you know for certain another agent has seen the query feel free to query others at @bookendslit. #askagent

Agent Naomi @NaomisLitPix: How do agents typically feel about signing on an author who has previously presented a version of the book they are querying on Wattpad? Considering it but don't want to jeopardize my chances of getting an agent and traditional publisher. #askagentEven Wattpad would be considered published. I don’t think it jeopardizes a future relationship with an agent, but I think most would prefer a new work. #askagent

@BookEndsJessica @musingsbook @bookendslit I've been working on a guided journal, but I'm unclear on formatting it for submission. Any specifications?#amwriting
I think I would leave some space to show where the person should journal. You could probably give 5 or so prompt examples and then a list of other questions in list form. #askagent

@BookEndsJessica I actually thought comp, is a comparison to the theme of another author's work with yours...Well I think it can be that too. It is really how you want to comp it and that can be the difficulty. Some might see a comp and think theme while others will think voice. #askagent

@BookEndsJessica do you think that a manuscript has to have immediate action for the agent to consider representing it? Or is it okay to build it up?I think you need to grab the reader but immediate action isn’t necessarily required. Study other authors in your genre for more insight. #askagent
