The market is ever-changing so I wouldn't worry about that so much. Instead, I would focus on what you need to do for you and if that's taking a year to jump into something new go for it. #askagent

Is a few thousand words over the average an automatic no?I would say 5,000-10,000 words is where it gets risky. Editing never hurt anyone. #askagent

Especially for foreign authors like myself, who might find it difficult to be in the US or elsewhere for long period of times.
