#MSWL day: I'd love to see more F/F in my inbox. give me your adult WILDER GIRLS, your righthand women fiercely defending their gfs, the claustrophobic intimacy of friendship where you might just take a bite out of each other, your SF/F Elena Ferrante, your swordswomen in love.

i learned about nüshu, a Chinese script that only women could write and understand, a long time ago but ran across it again in a reading today and now i can't stop thinking about it. where's the SFF treatment of this? the possibilities!atlasobscura.com/articles/nushu…
nüshu magic—ink witches sending spells and messages through hidden script that changes on the page, empires crumbling on the strength of a carefully wrought character, sworn sisters taking vengeance for their own—I want every iteration #MSWL

I am not an agent or an editor, so I'm just throwing it out there for writers who do humor better than me:I would kill for a YA book that captured the tone and feeling of the late great tv show Dead Like me.
selfishly expanding this into a #mswl for adult SFF that hits that Dead Like Me sweet spot of charming sardonic & reserved w/a deep undercurrent of heartbreak & stunning empathy that will break into the main storyline without warning. high concept but make it lump in your throat

#MSWL mid-age or older protags in a long-term romantic relationship. One that feels lived in, hard-earned, three-dimensional. There are so many uniquely awesome & stressful situations an SFF world— I want to see the ups & downs of getting into them w/ a longtime love by your sideCo-signing. Show me characters falling in love for the fourth time, with all the warts, while quietly and competently figuring out the galactic war/revolution/dystopia. #MSWL

@gaileyfrey I forget where on the internet I saw this, but someone once told an anecdote about their little brother learning that baby teeth fall out and adult ones grow in and then asking, "when do your baby eyes fall out?" The thought of baby eyes has HAUNTED me ever since.Sidebar: someone write me an sf/f story where your baby eyes falling out is a rite of initiation that presages the loss of innocence and the onset of true eyes and true Sight. Happy nightmares, everyone. #MSWL
