I just love this fact because it feels obvious that painters would paint the reality around them but it's also kind of mind blowing to think about how many historical details are hidden in paintings that we think are just "style" or for the Art of itThis reminds me that I would LOVE to see (nonfiction) books about art history with new research or from new perspectives or intersections with other fields! #MSWL
