Tomorrow is the last day I'm open to queries until the new year. I would REALLY love to see some fem-gore horror or feminist thrillers in my inbox. #MSWL
Haven't heard the term fem-gore? This is what I mean:

I am SO close to be caught up on client edits and my query box. If you’re waiting on a response from me for a submission, you should hear from me in the next 2-3 weeks, unless I’ve passed your work onto another CLA agent.
Hoping to reopen to queries with an updated #mswl on 9/1!

I'd planned to stay open to queries until the end of May, but I have so much amazing work in my inbox and a number of clients going on submission soon & therefore need to focus on what I have atm.
Closing Monday, so if you've been waiting it's time to submit!
#MSWL sports pls!

Happy to announce that I'm open to queries again! (Still working through a couple submissions, thank you authors for your patience)
And while I'm super disappointed in the Phillies' opening performances, I nonetheless am asking for baseball stories. #MSWL

Non-Fic #MSWL request. I'd love to see a narrative non-fic about running—humorous & uplifting voice be great. Memoir-esque, but informative.
Author must have a platform, and ideally either will have been a competitive runner or coach/trainer but not necessary.

Today's #MSWL !
Multi-character, multi-timeline, multi-theme literary works that feel like short story collections but tie together into a novel.
Stories must have scene arcs, not be merely vignettes.
Eg: OLIVE KITTERIDGE by Elizabeth Strout or THERE, THERE by Tommy Orange

Today's #MSWL item is VERY specific:
I want whip-smart absurdist OR speculative literary fiction that acts as satirical or hyperbolic commentary on the oddly accepted parts of culture and society.
Eg: Kevin Wilson's NOTHING TO SEE HERE or Jessamine Chan's SCHOOL FOR GOOD MOTHERS

My next #MSWL
Literary “Romance”—I want a deeply thematic & potentially twisted story about complexity of relationships/ love.
HEA ok but prefer not.
Lots of interiority but center around an external happening!
LGBTQ+ yes! But prefer when sexuality is not the main conflict

BIG #MSWL item for me:
Upmarket fiction, #ownvoices #Indigenous stories that feature sports. Think Olympics, long-distance running, rock-climbing, snow sports, mountaineering, etc.
Ideally with strong character arcs and a commercially appealing external plot.

#MSWL time!
I'd love to see mysteries/thrillers (literary or upmarket) with deep, psychological interiority that shows voice and personality. Think Searcher by Tana French, or Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton.
Extra interested if there's a faux/red-flag love interest involved.

I've responded to all queries (not including partial/full requests) and am re-opening my inbox on 4/1. I'm so excited to what you've all been writing these days!
To ramp up, I'm going to share some #MSWL details over the next couple weeks. . . stay tuned!
