As a note, I'm fluent in Spanish and French, can read and understand a bunch of Italian and Portuguese, have studied a bit of Korean, and am currently obsessed with Chinese dramas. I absolutely want to get more queries from BIPOC authors and illustrators to better fill that hole in my list. #MSWL

I don't put my kids' pictures on the public internet, but with my daughter's approval -- this is part of her "burning anger" -- here she is, adding her slogan, #keepourcountrycolorful, to one of which she approves, not far south of the border. pic.twitter.com/aQLniu1USF#MSWL When I eventually reopen to queries, I want to see all the middle grade manuscripts about girls burning with anger at injustice in the world and how they’re fighting back, especially by and about POC and other marginalized groups.
