Dear agents--if you email in re updates about a submission, attaching the submission means I can look right then versus finding the original email in my inbox... Win-win for us both. ;-)Wise. Applies equally well to querying authors. #pubtip

Five bucks says your first sentence has too many adjectives. You don't have to cram them all in there right away. #pubtip #writingtip

#PubTip time for #amwriting and #amquerying authors:
We don't suggest submitting to only one agent at a time. Not only are you limiting your chances of gaining representation, but you're prolonging your own journey to publication.

Too many middle grade queries in which protagonist, "is really mad at parents." This is, of course, a legitimate tween emotion but because I see it so often this particular conflict can feel generic. #pubtip #middlegrade

When including a synopsis, don't end it on a cliffhanger, a will they/won't they question, etc. Editors and agents are looking for a straightforward summary of the book, including the ending. #pubtip

General Tip: Agents sometimes get approached for writing samples. Including your agent on all delivery materials is a GREAT and HELPFUL. Making it easy to find ALL THE THINGS YOU'VE WRITTEN when someone asks you for sample writing. #NotASubtweet #PubTip

#pubtip General reminder: if you receive an offer of representation and other agents have partial pages or the full manuscript, please let them know about the offer. It's polite and helps agents prioritize reading time, and it may net you another offer. Options are good. :)This also applies if you receive an offer of publication from a publishing house/small press. #pubtip

The majority of character descriptions I see are static & visual: clothing, hair, facial features, body type, &c. There are many other ways to physically describe someone! For starters:
- gait
- posture
- sounds/speech patterns
- smell (if you get close)
- hand gestures
