This is a reminder to read submission guidelines before querying an agent, as they can and do change over time, and RELATEDLY, that I personally do not represent books with prominent law enforcement protagonists or themes, and that that is unlikely to change with time. #QueryTip

I love YA, but CANNOT acquire it. I get so many YA queries. I can't take anything below 50K and above 75K yet I get 150,000 word manuscripts. I only take fantasy or sci-fi w/ romance. I get epics with no romance. Read the guidelines for both our sakes. #querytip #asktheeditor

Book: Tell us about your book. Remember this is not a synopsis so give us the gist - think of it

When receiving offers or manuscript requests from agents, don't forget to contact other agents you've queried with updates or your decision to withdraw your query! #QueryTip

#querytip When it comes to your pitch, keep it to the point, but don't leave out crucial information. The way to tell if you've done this? Share the pitch with someone who HASN'T read the book, and have them tell you if it makes sense.

#querytip: comp titles MUST be recent and relevant. RECENT. AND. RELEVANT. I also STRONGLY urge you to include at least one *book* that is in your genre, published within 2-5 years ago.
