I love YA, but CANNOT acquire it. I get so many YA queries. I can't take anything below 50K and above 75K yet I get 150,000 word manuscripts. I only take fantasy or sci-fi w/ romance. I get epics with no romance. Read the guidelines for both our sakes. #querytip #asktheeditor

Hook: Here you will introduce your book in terms of age category, genre, word count, etc!
Book: Tell us about your book. Remember this is not a synopsis so give us the gist - think of it

+ I have never read a perfect manuscript on sub. When I read, I think “Can I fix this? Can I sell this this?” Minor mistakes don’t usually kill a book for me. That said, make it your best work! Never submit something you know has problems you can fix. twitter.com/hooksnbooks/st…Literary Agent

@laurenspieller Thank you for doing this! If a book is part 1 of a fully fleshed out series, would you like to learn a bit more about the series in the query?Nope, keep the focus on this book, and add "with series potential" at some point in the query #querytip
