Would love to see some brilliant #fantasy in our submissions inbox this weekend. To give an idea what I enjoy, I've recently read and loved @nkjemisin's Broken Earth trilogy, The Poppy War by @kuangrf, and the Rigante books by David Gemmell. #askagent #mswl (no dragons pls)

At the weekend I had a chat with someone about the Western they are writing, and woke up this morning wanting to read a UK western about drovers coming up against enclosure. Is there such a thing? I have vague memories of Drovers' Gold on the telly #mswl

#MSWL tweet! On top of seeing some atmospheric lighthouse submissions hit the inbox, I wonder if anyone is writing some good SF around isolation - something that makes me feel like a microscopic dot against a microscopic dot. I'd also love a fast-paced UK/European thriller.

2.Real urban settings, with stories that wear them like a skin. The time period is irrelevant as long as I can picture what the streets smell like after rain.

1.A rural Victorian saga, but that leaves the big houses out. As harvest time gets underway I long for hard cider and the sound of threshing machines.
