#querytip it's never going to make or break your manuscript for me...but I always question why an author chooses to use some ridiculous font in a submission email. My advice is to just keep it classic, Times New Roman or something very similar.

Please don’t pre-query. It’s not necessary to ask for permission to send a query. However, if an agent is closed to queries please wait patiently until the agent is open again instead of asking if you can send a query while s/he is closed. #querytip

Always save your files with your name and book title as the title. And if it's a revised version, add that too. I can't tell you how many people send me attachments called "synopsis" or "manuscript". That's a good way for it to get lost in an editor's computer or ereader. #PubTip

#QueryTip = let's say your heroine is a young queen whose mother had been deposed in a coup led by her brother's army.

In a query simply call her "the queen" or "the young queen." Cut out as much backstory as possible!

It's been said before, but bears repeating: starting your query letter by bashing other writers (even, nay, ESPECIALLY unpublished ones who are also querying) just doesn't work. #amquerying #querytip
