#querytip: if you spend a lot of time telling me how unique and original your project is what you're really saying is "I don't read enough."

#querytip Don't send queries "written" by your protagonist. If you want to be treated as a professional, treat your query professionally.

#QueryTip Consider your online presence. If I like your work, I research & try to read everything I find on you to see if we're a good fit.

#querytip Don't begin your query with a long bio, particularly if it has nothing to do with what you're querying on. It's all about the book

#pubtip, maybe don't say that your book is the only thing that does x if there are lots of books that do x. Do your research.

A good way to know: is rape central to your query? Do your sample pages portray a rape vividly? Your work is not for me. #querytip
