This is something I don't mind at all, but some agents do mind. Ultimately, worst they can do is reject it again. But if feedback was given for the rejection related to not a fit for wishlist, etc, it might have been rejected for reasons which editing can't resolve. #askagent

It usually doesn't "need work" from the author's point of view. We take on books that we see need very little work, that we think are fantastic and that the market is asking for #askagent

Yes, I think if the agency doesn't explicitly say they have that policy, then you should go for it. Just as long as you're submitting to one at a time. #askagent

Yes, I would check the agent website. If they do not have a "no reply means no" policy then look to see if they have an estimated response time listed and check in after that period of time has passed. #askagent

If you didn't get a confirmation, I would check in with the agent because it might not have gone through. But no reply from a @bookendslit agent is not a no. We respond to all queries we receive, regardless of how long it takes. #askagent

But really, we spend a lot of time on the phone, answering emails, reviewing contracts... Most of the submission reading and client revisions (for me, anyway) comes at night or on the weekend. #askagent
