Sure. I never reject the author, just the book. I have several clients whose first two or three queries I rejected, but loved the newest one.

@UweStenderPhD How much time should pass before I consider no answer to *be* a pass? This is for an initial query which fits MSWL.(I get my second shot next Friday!🧡)
I will always respond, unless I have an OOO message <as currently> that defines when I respond. Thus, if this refers to me, one or the other is in play. With other agents, I don't really know. I would write them off after 6 weeks, personally.
