#askagent #querytips How do you feel about the inclusion of supplementary materials in a requested fantasy MS? Appendixes, family trees, glossaries, maps, etc.If I've requested the full, I am expecting a word document of the story. These things can be a part of this document but I'm not likely to open multiple docs. But can story be told without those elements? Good to make sure story is strong enough to stand w/o them too. #askagent

I queried an agent in March & didn't hear back. A few weeks ago she liked my #pitdark tweet for the same project. Her website says to query significantly revised projects after 6 months. Should I wait until 6 months has passed, or can I query earlier because of PitDark? #askagentIf you queried but never heard back do send along the requested materials - if it was on a full manuscript request I would advise you email for clarification of her instructions. #askagent

@BookEndsJessica I love that definition. In your opinion does own voices refer also to chronic illnesses? Or would one simply relay their shared experience (such as mental illness, neurolodiversity, cancer etc) in a query?If you are writing a book about a character with a chronic illness you share then yes, I believe that's an #ownvoices story. #askagent

I'm just wondering what the acceptable situations are to have a 2nd agent, since agents do work on commission.Everything is acceptable if it is reasonable and agreed upon.

I’ve seen 4 work efficiently (poisonwood bible) but can’t find one with more (please don’t say GOT)I can't think of one. However, that does not mean it cannot be done. Ambitious, but possible.

@UweStenderPhD Perfect! Last night I came across an issue and thought “man, I’d love his input”My book is non-linear and has two timelines, working backwards in time.
I ignored this structure & wrote the synopsis in a straightforward manner with a linear timeline. Is this right? Thank you!
You should mention that your book does not follow a linear timeline. I personally am very literal *for reasons*, so if I have an expectation and it is not met, I will shut down. So, just inform the agent.
