@UweStenderPhD Do you have an opinion on whether a writer should hire a developmental editor before securing an agent?If I were a writer, I would not hire someone to do what I am supposed to do myself. I would get critique partners and save my money to buy them dinner and myself a bottle of Bombay Sapphire.

@UweStenderPhD When querying a completed trilogy, is it better to query only the first MS and mention there are 2 more finished ones or query all three MSs at once and give the complete arc of the story?Query the first only, but you should mention it is part of a series.
