@beth_phelan Is urban fantasy really dead in adult fantasy? Or is it called contemporary fantasy now?#askagent How do you like your eggs? 🥚 #askbeth
Replying to @hanallua

I don’t think so! I don’t do much adult anymore but seems people still love reading it so i hope editors are still buying. But yeah some words do get people skeptical.

If I’m making them, scrambled. If a restaurant, poached. I prefer scrambled but most places make them too dry

Darlene P. Campos 🇺🇸🇪🇨 @DarleneCampos91

@beth_phelan Does an MS absolutely need to be professionally edited before querying agents? It's a little pricey, but does it help with getting an offer? #askagent #askbeth
Replying to @DarleneCampos91

It never NEEDS to be professionally edited—from an agents POV. This doesn’t mean an author wouldn’t benefit from one if they can afford and think it’d be helpful to them. But critique partners and beta readers are great and i think those are great resources as well

it's okay to say you don't know the answer to something. whether you're doing an #askagent/#askeditor or at a conference, it's better to say I DON'T KNOW than to give wrong information. don't pretend to be an authority on something you know nothing about. #revpit
