Michelé Strachota @MStracho

@BradyRHart In relation to this great question! Are there months where your inboxes are generally more flooded? And months that are light consistently? #askPSLA
Replying to @MStracho

There are generally more queries right at the beginning of January (we usually close to queries for a couple weeks at the end of December, so I don't think that helps). Otherwise, it's fairly consistent. #askPSLA

Zoe @squaremouse7

Hope this is okay to ask: Is YA historical fantasy too saturated? #askPSLA

Nope! Now, some areas of "history" are certainly more saturated than others, but in the general, nope. And if you have something with a funny voice like GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO VICE AND VIRTUE or MY LADY JANE, I am convinced it's the next hot thing, so do send :) #askPSLA

Debra Daugherty @dmddeb

#askPSLA If accepted by an agent who only handles MG and YA, does one need a separate agent for any PBs he/she has written?
Replying to @dmddeb

This will depend on the agent. Some are willing to rep outside of their preferred categories/genres for current clients. Some might ask another agent at the agency to take on your PBs. Others might tell you it's ok to find a second agent. #askPSLA

Tiana @thebookraven_

If you have more then one manuscript can you pitch both to the same agent or must you pick one? Or could you pitch the same agent more then once? #askPSLA

You have to pick one at a time, I'm afraid. If they offer you can always discuss the other, and if they pass then you can query the other after a bit of time has passed. But you probably want to be leading with your newest and best anyway! #askPSLA

What cringeworthy trope infects your slush pile like an unkillable virus? #askPSLA pic.twitter.com/m7mkh1r39S

Portal fantasy in Middle Grade is really overdone. Not that it can't work, but it needs a fun new twist to capture my attention at this point! #askPSLA

Lol! I'm never going to be the one for angel/demon stories, especially in a modern setting. Fantasy-world demons are a whole different thing, though. Purely personal preference, of course 🤗 #askPSLA

Caroline Elle Murphy @clmurphy4

#askPSLA How do you feel about writer critique groups and what advice would you give on best practices for a group? Thank you for answering questions today!
Replying to @clmurphy4

Critique groups are wonderful and make you a better writer. I think every writer should have critique partners. Best practices: be nice; remain humble. #askPSLA
