Tania Kim-Lan Joly @TKJoly@StorySorcery That you had to *REALLY* personalize every query by finding things you had in common with every agent 😅
A query and a synopsis are NOT the same thing
A query is like the back cover copy —it gives you just enough info to say READ ME
A synopsis tells the whole story beginning to end with spoilers and should also show character arc
Update on our submission system
Any submission sent before midnight this morning (9/8/2020 12:00am) I cannot access 😢 and I have some dating back to the end of June (I’m so sorry)
They’re working on the issue & we hope it’s resolved soon.
Questions? Post them below #querytip
There's been an influx of queries being sent directly to my inbox so I need to ask... what's up? Is the submission system not working?
Help a girl figure out this mystery because I hate rejecting queries for not following instructions.

I don’t know about other agents but the number of queries I get a day has skyrocketed
Don’t get me wrong, it’s awesome to have so many to look at it’s just taking me twice as long to go through them all
This means querying writers need extra patience #querytip
Reminder to querying authors: Make sure you delete all the comments left by critique partners/beta readers. Not that I don't find them interesting, I do, but you probably don't want me reading those instead of your MS & they are way too tempting for me not to look at. #querytip
A.M. Rose @annmroseAnother day and another round of submissions that start with either a dream and then the character waking up, or just the character waking up.
Writers: You are amazing and so creative, and I promise you, you can do better.

Writers if you’re going to give your MC awesome superpowers make sure you show us how they’ll be used in the synopsis cause when that reads like a strict contemporary romance we’re left wondering why the superpowers at all 🤷♀️
