WordsnStuff @bluelex510@LZats for a new author writing 1st queries, any do's/dont's?
@bluelex510 don'ts: forget word ct, title, category, genre. Use the words unique or normal. Be desperate. Be unprofessional #askagent
Joey Tovar @Joweeezy@LZats What's the biggest piece of advice you would give to an author publishing their first book? #askagent
Mike Madison @mikemadison@LZats any advice you'd give to authors who have a revised manuscript and are starting the querying process now?
@mikemadison personalize your query. Really know why you're reaching out to who you are. Go in batches and revise along the way #askagent
Cindy Mahedy @CindyCmahedy@LZats do you see queries sent to others at your agency?
@CindyCmahedy the Sofa has all our own emails. We don't see unless we share them (which happens several x/wk). Other agencies do #askagent
Katy England @Jaberkaty@LZats What are jonesing for? And how often do you take risks on something that is off the beaten track?
@Jaberkaty I'll almost always say yes to 3 chapters for something kooky I love it idea of. For my obsessions, check out my #mswl #askagent
Katie @msynergy@LZats Out of all the queries you read, how often would you say you request more material?
Dottie D @DottieD126@LZats same ms, but the ms is what has been revised over and over.
@DottieD126 then you can try it, but make sure the query is good and reflects that change #askagent
Matt Perkins 💪🎅👍 @mrperki@LZats Is it acceptable to query multiple agents at the same time? Or should I wait for a response before moving on?
