#MSWL So much of fiction acquisition is discussion of comp titles. I'd love to see your novel if it might be a logical comp to one of these:

Oh also: being a gloomy Swede myself, I do love stuff with Scandinavian themes/settings/ideas etc. #MSWL

One final thing on fiction, because this happens a lot: I treat ~65K as a min. word count unless there's a strong reason for shorter #MSWL

For NF, I love:

-Sportswriting that addresses larger cultural forces
-the underbelly of US history
-Pop. science, especially biology

Fiction that plays with time, form, or perspective: think David Mitchell, or anyone else trying something a little less conventional #MSWL

I'd love to see lit fic set somewhere that doesn't get much attention, with characters living lives that are as unique as the place #MSWL

New year and all, so maybe I should do some #MSWL? I would LOVE to find some more writers to start 2017.

The new Lethem, A GAMBLER"S ANATOMY, is awesome (to me). Anyone got something like that? Games taken too seriously? Gamblers losing? #MSWL

Hey, so, I'd bet that 95% of my submissions are fiction. I really want some compelling NF proposals! Science, culture, essays, history #MSWL

Last one: I love the American west. That's my home. Lit fic set in CO, NM, etc. People get Up To Stuff out west and I am HERE FOR IT #MSWL

Magic that isn't real magic. Ghosts not really there. Tricks, illusions. As in, an adult novel SET IN REALITY but with surreal themes #MSWL

Literary novels: very young or very old protags with weird traits. obsessions, preoccupations, strange hobbies, anxieties, etc #MSWL

I (of course) loved A BRIEF HISTORY OF SEVEN KILLINGS and CITY ON FIRE. I'm not scared of your giant, expansive, ambitious lit. novel! #MSWL

Mysticism, superstition, ritual, the Saints: Catholicism has some really interesting stuff in its past/present #MSWL

Though I'd love to see a new book/essays on modern southern culture from ANY angle (good luck doing that without football though) #MSWL
