A #querytip: many agents I know (myself included) prefer not to receive queries via LinkedIn. Not meant to put anyone on blast, but it's a social network I rarely check and often results in people reaching out to me in genres I don't represent. Email is the way to go for me!

I hate that I have to say this again but...#querytip please don't send agents you've queried expensive gifts!!! It scares us and makes us feel awkward!!!!!!!

Lil' #querytip: check to make sure the font for the body of your letter matches the font for the agent's name. Not that we won't read your query otherwise, but it looks so much more intentional and provokes a v different gut feeling.

Quick little #querytip: if you call an agency to ask about their submission process, and someone kindly takes the time to walk you through it, don't HANG UP when they say they'll have to read your letter before they decide. Can't wait to put your query right in the trash!
