Query letter pitches this month have been SPECTACULAR. I have so many stories waiting in my inbox to be read.

Keep sending those 💯 submissions my way, please! #MSWL

Random things I would love to see more of in submissions: witchcraft; boy bands; crows/ravens; unusual structure/format; nature; female friendship; LGBTQ+ characters; WOC characters; Wes Anderson-inspired stories. #MSWL

And I'm always looking for illustrated picture books by professional illustrators! Definitely send a link to your art portfolio when querying. #MSWL

Topics on my picture book wish list: the Wheel of the Year; cultural traditions/history; tales of mythology and lore; nature-based nonfiction; and ghosts. #MSWL

I'd also love a realistic Middle Grade with a protagonist who has an immigrant parent (or parents). Growing up, I would have really appreciated reading this element in a book. #MSWL

I want to see your Middle Grade novels based on myths and traditions from various cultures. #MSWL

Still looking for a bunch of YA things: a story about female best friends; a macabre fairy tale retelling; a great mystery; a cute gay or lesbian love story. #MSWL

I also love illustrated nonfiction! Any category, really. Have a fun/creative/cool/smart idea? Send me a proposal! #MSWL

@msmariavicente Thanks for hosting this! Top of your wish list for YA? Any special genres? #askagent

I'd really love some genre fiction in YA. SFF or horror with an unusual premise and diverse characters. Also, LGBTQ+ Contemporary. #MSWL

I am very selectively looking at picture books. Must be illustrated. Would love to see more nonfiction topics! #MSWL
