My favorite themes & tropes: monsters (werewolves, sirens, witches, vampires), hauntings, cults, fairytales, toxic relationships turned fatal, family dynamics, class & power imbalances, revenge, meta horror, body horror, psychological terror... #mswl

YA fantasy! I’m all about witchy blood magic—darker is better (does anyone see a trend here yet). Queer! Enemies to lovers! Magic with consequences! Tangled friend/family relationships! Unique plot lines with lots of tension/conflict! AND DON’T FORGET THE KISSING I NEED KISSING

Are we all still talking about how much we love witches? Because Y E S. Would love for witches of all kinds to be a big theme in my inbox in 2020! #mswl

I'm constantly and will forever be looking for witches of all types--mostly contemporary or light fantasy (basically anything grounded in the real work). #MSWL #ForeverMyMSWL twitter.com/laurenspieller…Editor

I personally would love to see witches hit it BIG. I'm talking all kinds of witches--brujas, Craft-like goth girls, small-time hedgewitches, Miyazaki-inspired aunties who bake up magical treats--I WANT THEM ALL. twitter.com/laurenspieller…I'm constantly and will forever be looking for witches of all types--mostly contemporary or light fantasy (basically anything grounded in the real work). #MSWL #ForeverMyMSWL

Rewatching Witches of East End. I love the Killian/Freya/Dash love triangle, the curse on Ingrid and Freya, and the family dynamics between the Beauchamp women.
As always, I want contemporary witches in my inbox, and I wouldn't complain if they had any of these plotlines. #MSWL

Can I please have modern witches? I mean, witches who are living their lives, drinking tea, wearing certain gemstones for certain qualities, hanging herbs in the kitchen, concocting healing spells and ones that help you not fall asleep in exams. Modernize! #MSWL

Other random elements I love: historical fiction, witches (historical and contemporary, but less on the humorous side), boarding schools, food, slow build romance, whimsy, retellings...#MSWL

I'm an idiot and forgot to state the obvious. I am the resident witch at Corvisiero, so if you have MS's (contemporary or otherwise) that deal in tarot, astrology, crystals, and any other kind of witchy/pagan things. Send them to me! #mswl

No matter the time of year, I ALWAYS want to read more stories about witches, ghosts, mermaids, and other magical beings. Spooky and spoopy stories are welcome. 👻🎃 #MSWL

I just got up to stretch and saw a Salem Witch Trial NF book. Can someone please write me Salem Witch Trials but in a fantasy world? You'd have to know the history leading up to the witch trials, and then figure out for your new fantasy world, but SO COOL. #MSWL
